Amaya and Alex were married at the lovely Robin Hills Farm in Chelsea, Michigan - a 129 acre agriculture, education and event space. This was my first time shooting at this venue and loved every second of it. What I noticed quickly upon arriving was how attentive the Farm's staff was. They were friendly, helpful and went out of their way to help us make the day memorable. During the bridal portraits one of the team members took us on a golf cart ride around the property, one of the highlights of the day for me. Their Farm was massive - tons of ground to roam and explore for photos including "The Nest" (where the guys got ready with a giant water front patio), Sawyer Pond (a 3 acre sized body of water with a pier across the center that allowed us to utilize the little island in the middle for photos), big open fields, hiking trails, a barn and even a greenhouse (that can host ceremonies!). The event space is a modernized, elegant barn overlooking the most beautiful surroundings with a big outdoor gathering area, perfect for cocktail hour. Amaya & Alex rented the coolest furniture for the outdoor space that made it not only beautiful, but cozy for the guests to relax and mingle. I loved how the guys made time to do some fishing before the wedding festivities began, right outside The Nest where they got ready.
The ceremony took place outdoors surrounded by beautiful natural light and rolling green grass with a line of trees as the backdrop. The reception was held outdoors beneath a white tent, while the dancing all happened inside the main barn. For those considering or planning a wedding at the Farm, I highly encourage you to sneak out to the pond for sunset portraits. It's the perfect spot with big open views to let the warm light cover everything.
I absolutely LOVE when couples opt for voice recording over the traditional guest book. They had an old school rotary phone that guests could leave private messages on.
Here's some highlights from their day..
