Hello! I'm Jen.

The face + voice behind the camera.

Weddings | Boudoir | Portraiture | Branding

I love people. I believe in community over competition. I have created this space to be all inclusive of every mind, every body, and every love. Everyone is so beautifully different. No story is ever the same. All stories and all love are welcome here. I’m a giant supporter of the LGBTQ community and a love-the-body-you're-in kinda gal. Perfection is boring and we should be celebrating what makes us different.

I’m a good mix of an extrovert + introvert and love making new friends wherever I go. I love giving smiles away and think small things like showing kindness can change someone’s world. I look for the silver lining in all situations and prefer to spread positivity around at every opportunity. I live in a farm house in the middle of nowhere with my big blended family - my amazing husband, our 5 children, a dog named Stormy, a tortoise named Daisy, a super cute jumping spiders and a coop full of hens.

I’ve been a professional photographer since 2008, the year I had my first child (although I've had a camera in my hands long before then). My background is in finance but I left the 9-5 for good in 2018 to better serve my creative spirit. I love exploring, getting lost in book stores or lost in the crowd of a punk or ska show, markets and shopping handmade, thrift stores, reading, writing poetry, floating wherever there's water, and inching my way to homesteading. Forever obsessed with hand lettering & typography, horror movies, and acoustic versions of songs.

My life goal? To be HAPPY.

Behind the business.

My why.

I lost my youngest sister in 2017 - her photographs are all I have left of her and some of my most treasured possessions. The importance of photography is immeasurable -  not because I'm biased, but because I've lost someone. We’ve got 100 years of this life to live if we’re lucky. What better way to prove we were here than to leave physical proof for those that love us? Our stories and our photographs are our legacy. When you look through your gallery or when you walk by the giant print of your kids on your wall, I want you to remember yourself in that moment and how you felt. Creating beautiful photos is the easy part; Creating imagery that evokes emotion is the real feat. I want my photographs to serve like the tree’s growth rings so you’re able to relive every bit of growth you’ve had in your happiness and every inch of the beautiful in between.

Photography is personal. Its hard to keep life and business separate when my business literally relies on being vulnerable and sharing such important moments in others lives. Since my goal is get inside your bubble, I’ll let you inside mine, too. It’s only fair.

I take pride in being different in the work I create and different in the experience I provide. So many people are throwing terms around about the style photographers work in.. dark and moody, bright and airy, true-to-life. I’ve never been able to really answer that question because I float somewhere in between. Instead, I always say that my style of work is less based on an aesthetic and more focused on an emotional presence. When you browse your images I want you to remember how you felt during them, not just what you wore or what you looked like.
